Trial By Special Judge

In civil and family law matters, the parties may agree on referral of their pending case for a non-jury trial on the merits. The parties may hire a qualified judge who will expedite disposition of the case after hearing the evidence and arguments of counsel.

Parties selecting Trial By Special Judge should expect the following:

  1. Prepare for trial only once
  2. Presentation of evidence before a judge who is prepared and conversant with their case
  3. Expedited proceedings through stipulations, summaries and limitation of witnesses, and
  4. A neutral judge’s well reasoned disposition of all issues based on correct application of relevant law
